SYNOPSIS

Happy Doc’s is a factual entertainment series which partners with local British Organisations in various sectors of health, wellbeing and more to deliver inspiring and proactive content meant to Inspire, Educate and Entertain.

There is a common census that many documentaries and factual series have a hands-off approach when dealing with interesting subject matter – and in our eyes, that’s boring!

Inspired by Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends and Vice documentaries of early 2010’s, we want to connect with audiences through engaging with topics – hands on.

Made by Young filmmakers invested in whatever we uncover, our primary audience are 15-30 year olds. Some of the feedback we’ve received is immensely positive. Following our documentary on Roller-skating, there were many people that bought roller skates and joined ‘Skate Buddies’, an organisation we partnered with to teach people that it’s possible to learn how to skate under 2 hours.

‘Bankruptcy in Birmingham’ was a political episode which also connected with the local youth, who gained more awareness about the situation of the local council.

Our showrunner, Rajab Mahmood, is now based in Manchester UK. As a result, we aim to partner with local organisations to deliver high quality content across the North West region. Our next season will be bigger and better.

Now having been acquired by Twister Pictures, the series is in safe hands when it comes to distribution. More people will see Happy Docs and we genuinely can’t wait!
