OVERVIEW
Twister Pictures Academy (TPA) was established on Saturday 22nd January 2026 with its first workshop being held on Saturday 7th February 2026, under a month later. This is a hands-on in-person filmmaking workshop across eight sessions dedicated to helping members of the public, make a high quality short film.
This initiative is currently self funded, but has gained "Venue-Support" from Manchester City Council. The academy is part of fulfilling our company motto to educate and harvest the next batch of storytellers in the city. The academy is completely flexible - happening once every two weeks on a Saturday. The course is individually sold at £5 per session, intended to provide flexibility to members who may have other commitments.
The workshops offer a wealth of indie film knowledge, alongside light refreshments too. Currently our cohort are planning to make a five minute drama about two couples overcoming the aesthetic of love, through therapy.

WHY US?
'Perfection is not expected', is our core belief at Twister Pictures Academy. As a result, we encourage our cohort to immediately think outside the box every session and allow for open debate and healthy discourse. This is a safe space for all and a third space for many.
These workshops are flexible, no committment and occur once every two weeks on a Saturday. However, as our sessions are so good, we have people attending every session! Join us and make new friends and develop your network.
